Using PRESTO

Find out how, where and when you can use your PRESTO card to make travelling easier.

Step 1: Load Your Card

Once you’ve received your PRESTO card, you can load funds and transit passes onto the card. You can do this online, in person at our Customer Service Outlets, or by phone at 1-877-378-6123.

Step 2: Tap Your Card

After funds or a transit pass have been added to the card, you’re ready to ride. Tap your card on a PRESTO device at the beginning of your journey to pay for your transit ride.

Step 3: Manage Your Card

Access your My PRESTO Account to view your card activity, add funds and transit passes and manage your profile. You can even set up great features like Autoload and Autorenew, which automatically add funds and transit passes to your card each month.

Set a Child, Youth, or Senior Fare Type

You can visit any Customer Service Outlet to set specific fare types to your PRESTO card. See the fare type eligibility for specific fare types that can be added to your PRESTO card. Visit your local transit agency's website for specific fare information. Always carry your proof of eligibility when travelling.

Child

  • 6-12 years of age (inclusive)
  • Proof of age required

Student/Youth

  • 13-19 years of age (inclusive)
  • Photo ID with date of birth required

Post-secondary student

  • Available for GO Transit only
  • Enrolled as a full-time student
  • Proof of enrollment (student card) required

Adult

  • Default status
  • No discount provided

Senior

  • 65 years of age or older
  • Photo ID with date of birth required

Set Language Settings

Your PRESTO card can be set to either English or French.Your language setting will determine the display language shown on PRESTO devices when you tap. You can visit a Customer Service Outlet to change your card's language setting.
