Using PRESTO

Step 1: Load Your Card

Once you’ve received your PRESTO card, you can load funds and transit passes onto the card. You can do this online, in person at our Customer Service Outlets, or by phone at 1-877-378-6123 using your Saved Payment Method.

Step 2: Tap Your Card

After funds or a transit pass have been added to the card, you’re ready to ride. Tap your card on a PRESTO device at the beginning of your journey to pay for your transit ride.

Step 3: Manage Your Card

For added convenience and peace of mind, create a My PRESTO Account. You can set up Autoload and Autorenew, to have funds or transit passes automatically added to your card, review your card activity and more. Plus, if your card is ever lost or stolen, your funds are protected.

Set a Child, Youth, or Senior Fare Type

You can visit any Customer Service Outlet to set specific fare types to your PRESTO card. See the fare type eligibility for specific fare types that can be added to your PRESTO card. Visit your local transit agency's website for specific fare and eligibility information.

Child

  • 6-12 years of age (inclusive)
  • Proof of age required

Student/Youth

  • 13-19 years of age (inclusive)
  • Photo ID with date of birth required

Post-secondary student

  • Enrolled as a full-time student
  • Proof of enrollment (student card) required

Adult

  • Default status
  • No discount provided

Senior

  • 65 years of age or older
  • Photo ID with date of birth required

Set Language Settings

Your PRESTO card can be set to either English or French.Your language setting will determine the display language shown on PRESTO devices when you tap. You can visit a Customer Service Outlet to change your card's language setting.
