PRESTO uses two-step verification to help keep customer accounts secureWhen you sign in from an unrecognized device or browser, you’ll be asked to verify your identity using a one-time verification code sent by SMS text message or an automated phone callThis extra layer of security helps make sure only you can access your account and personal information.
When you create a PRESTO account and add your PRESTO cards and contactless debit and credit cards to it, you’ll be able to use features like:
- Automatic balance protection in case you lose or damage your PRESTO card
- Full transaction history
- Transfer balance between two PRESTO cards within your account
- Autoload or Autorenew to automatically reload funds or passes
- Manage saved payment methods for faster and easier checkout
- Automatic emails for all your transactions and account actions
- See your transfer window
- Lock or unlock your PRESTO card
Sign in to your account on the website and select “Edit Dashboard” on the top right cornerThen you can change the order of your PRESTO cards and contactless debit and credit cards
Your Contact Centre PIN is used for account verification for your physical PRESTO cards when calling the PRESTO Contact CentreIf you use a digital PRESTO card, you will need to set up voice biometrics when you call into the IVR
If you’ve forgotten your Contact Center PIN, you can reset it by signing into your account, selecting the card you want to change the PIN for, selecting "Card Settings", then choosing the "Change PIN" option.
Yes, you can remove a card from your account
Removing a card from your account means:
- Your PRESTO card balance will no longer be protected if it is lost or damaged.
- You won’t be able to view full transaction history.
- You won’t be able to receive notifications or email updates.
- You can still sign in as a guest with a PRESTO card number on the PRESTO website and app, but you will see limited details about your card.
- You can re-register your card to another PRESTO account
To remove a card:
1Sign into your account. 2Find the card you want to remove from your account. 3Select “Card Details” in the left hand menu, or settings menu. 4Then scroll down and select “Unregister Card.” If your card has a negative balance or is otherwise blocked from being used to travel, you won’t be able to remove it from your account.
You can register up to 10 cards to your account, including physical and digital PRESTO cards, contactless credit, and Interac debit
To register a new physical PRESTO card to your account:
1Sign into your PRESTO account on the website or app. 2On the PRESTO website dashboard , select the "Add a Card" button at the bottom of the ”My Products” list If you're using the PRESTO app, select the “Add Card” option on the top right of the dashboard page. 3Enter the Card Number and 3-digit verification number found on the back of the card and click “Next.” 4Create a 4-digit contact center PIN and nickname for your card and click “Next.” 5Verify the information, click “Add Card” and you're done!
To register a new digital PRESTO card to your account:
1Sign in to your account on the PRESTO app. 2On the dashboard, select “Add a card”. 3Under register an existing card, select “PRESTO in Apple Wallet” or “PRESTO in Google Wallet” and select “Add Card”. 4You’ll be directed to your mobile wallet where you just need to follow the prompts and then you’re done!
To register a new contactless credit card to your account:
1Sign into your PRESTO account on the website or app. 2On the PRESTO website dashboard select the "Add a Card" button at the bottom of the “My Products” listIf you're using the PRESTO app, select the “Add Card” option on the dashboard page. 3Enter your credit card details. 4Create a nickname for your card, click ”Next” and you’re done!
To register a new contactless Interac debit card (not available for Interac debit cards in mobile wallets) to your account:
1Sign into your PRESTO account on the website or app. 2On the PRESTO website dashboard select the "Add a Card" button at the bottom of the “My Products” listIf you're using the PRESTO app, select the “Add Card” option on the dashboard page. 3Enter your debit card details and the Confirmation ID, which can be found in your bank statementThe Confirmation ID must be from a transaction made within the last 6 months using your physical debit cardThe Confirmation ID will be in the following format: PRES/A1B2C3D4E5. 4Create a nickname for your card, click “Next” and you’re done!
To change the email address associated with your PRESTO account:
1Sign into your account on the website or app. 2Select the Login and Security section from the menu. 3You will find the email address settings at the top of the page.
