You can set a fare type on a physical PRESTO card or on a PRESTO card in Mobile Wallet PRESTO contactless credit and debit cards are always charged the adult fare.

Some fare types do expire, so make sure you know the expiry dateHere's how you can easily check when your fare type expires by:

  • PRESTO App: Sign in, select your card, click the "i" icon, then the "Info" tabFor multiple fare types, select "View More."
  • PRESTO Website: Sign in to your PRESTO account, select the card you want to view, choose Card Details, and review the Fare Type Details section.
  • In Person: At participating Shoppers Drug Mart, Customer Service Outlet, or PRESTO fare vending machines.

The child fare type is only valid until a child turns 13A PRESTO card set with a child fare type won’t automatically convert to a youth (13-19) fare typeWhen your child turns 13, make sure to set up a youth fare type by visiting a participating Shoppers Drug Mart or Customer Service Outlet.
