In the event of a Canada Post labour disruption, delivery of PRESTO cards ordered online and the processing of paper forms could be delayed. We encourage you to get your card in person at a Customer Service Outlet, at select Shoppers Drug Mart locations, at Fare Vending Machines at TTC subway stations, and at select Ticket Vending Machines at GO and UP Express stations. If you ordered a card 10 days or more prior to any labour disruption, it should be delivered as usual.

What is PRESTO?

PRESTO is an electronic payment system that eliminates the need for tickets, tokens, passes and cash. PRESTO works across local transit in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) and Ottawa, making paying for your trip simple, convenient and secure.

Take the worry out of travel, if you set up a My PRESTO Account, card balances are protected from loss or theft.

You can get started in just three simple steps.

Online: Order a card online. Your card will be mailed to you within 7-10 business days. You can create a My PRESTO Account or be without an account.

Buy in person: At a Customer Service Outlet. Your card is ready to use immediately, and your My PRESTO Account can be created online after 24 hours.

If you ordered a card with a My PRESTO Account from the PRESTO website, you'll need to activate it before you ride. Cards purchased in person are already activated.

Activate your card online or by calling PRESTO at 1-877-378-6123 and following the automated instructions.

After funds or a transit pass have been added to the card, you're ready to ride. Tap your card on a PRESTO device at the beginning of your ride to pay for your transit quickly, simply, and securely.
